Do I owe anything if my case is not successful?
No. If approved, you will be receiving non-recourse funds, which means you only pay back these advances out of money you may receive in your case. If there is no recovery in your case, you do not owe any repayment.
What is the pay back cost on the money I receive?
Many litigation funders basically require you to pay back 3 times or even 4 times the amount that you receive from them. Our usage fees for providing advances vary, but many people who receive funds can expect to pay back the amount of your advances plus a usage fee of approximately half the value of the advances (assuming a 14-month usage of the advances). A complete repayment schedule is provided at the time of your application.
What if I have to pay back a large amount out of my case settlement?
Receiving month to month checks that allow you to pay your bills and survive during your case likely allows your attorney to obtain a much higher settlement for you. It gives him the time he needs to do his job. In the end, if you recover more money in your case, your investment in month to month advances to pay bills is a win/win for you. You keep your head above water during your case, and ultimately you may recover more money in your pocket at the end of the case since your attorney has time to build your case.
